What is a Seed ball?

A seed ball is a marble sized ball made of clay, earth and seeds which is used to germinate seeds. It is also referred to as seed bombs. Seed Ball is a unique and interesting method in today’s age where the greenery is becoming a silent victim of modernization.Seed balls work as a great idea for a sustainable environment in our concrete jungles. It can also be used as a method for cultivation of plants.

 

How to Use?

Seed balls are an ancient technique for propagating plants from seeds without opening up the soil with cultivation tools such as a plough.First Method: Dig a 1-1 ½ inch deep pit in your backyard or garden or any other place, and put the seed balls. Spray water for and these seed balls will start grow.Second Method: For mass reforestation one can do throw and grow. In right conditions the seed balls grow.

History:

The concept of seed balls were started by Masanobu Fukuoka, a Japanese man famous for popularizing natural farming, the concept has been adopted worldwide now.
